A lot of questions have been asked about the captain's character over the past couple of seasons. There have been a plethora of games when you have been left questioning whether the Argentine has ever played a game of football before in his life; whether that be through a lack of effort, concentration, or a combination of both. Those shoddy displays, coupled with his refusal to face up to the cameras and lead from the front in the face of a humiliating defeat - something The Magpies have suffered all too often for anyone's comfort in recent years - have led to many wanting the skipper's armband taken away from him; and deservedly so. However, there was one piece of play during the second half of last night's game that showed Coloccini can battle like the toughest of them when he wants to. He quite literally ran through a number of Manchester United players all on his lonesome - leaving the likes of Wayne Rooney on his backside after a thunderous challenge. Why can't he show similar intestinal fortitude on a more regular basis?
