We can all thank Nacho Gonzalez for finally sending Kevin Keegan out of the door at the end of his second spell as manager at Newcastle, after he was already annoyed at Mike Ashley for not investing the funds necessary to break into the top four. How times have changed... Gonzalez was signed after Dennis Wise - then Director Of Football and already building his reputation at the club with some odd signings - has viewed some highlights of him on Youtube. This was subsequently unveiled during the tribunal into Keegan's unfair dismissal, when the club finally admitted to lying to fans on Keegan and Wise's roles in terms of transfers. It perhaps would have been a little easier to take if Nacho hadn't been awful - as Keegan had correctly evaluated - but that proved to be the case. The Uruguayan went on to make just two league appearances for the Magpies, and then skulked off back to Valencia, who hadn't even wanted him in the first place, judging by how many times they sent him on loan without giving him a single appearance.
