He might have been the victim of a ridiculous witch-hunt that culminated in Joe Kinnear's comically stupid "Insomnia" comment, but N'Zogbia never really helped himself with his attitude after making it into the first team at Newcastle. He was a hugely talented player, capable on the ball and versatile enough to play all up the left-hand side, but he had his head turned by what can only be assumed as an ambitious agent. He was apparently told that he was good enough for the Champions League, and that there was interest. And when Kinnear's insult followed a fist fight with Andy Carroll on the training pitch, N'Zogbia went for broke for his big move. And ended up at Wigan.
