10 Spurs Players Who Were Extremely Versatile

9. Gary Doherty

Time At Spurs: 2000-2004. Positions: Centre Back, Striker. Gary Doherty is hardly one of the better players Spurs have had in the Premier League era, but the fact is that he is one of the few players in Premier League history to genuinely be able to call himself both a centre back and centre forward. The Irishman joined the Lilywhites from Luton Town and didn't really cement himself in the first team after a decent run in the 2000-01 season, but he played as both a striker (when he first arrived) and in a defensive role (towards the end of his Spurs career) when he did get on the pitch.
