10 Strangest Ever Man City Transfers

1. Carlos Tevez

City had just pinched the Argentinian from their fierce foes and, as if to rub salt in the wounds, erected a 'Welcome to Manchester' billboard with Tevez in the background at the top of Deansgate in Manchester city centre, which leads to Salford and Trafford - a subtle did at United's roots. United manager Sir Alex Ferguson went ballistic about the poster campaign, furiously labelling City as a 'small club with a small mentality'. The fuse had been lit in the battle of Manchester. What made this transfer even more strange is that, upon leaving United, Tevez ruled out a move to Liverpool because he didn't want to upset Red Devil fans by moving to their Merseyside rivals. He apparently had no issue signing for another direct rival, however.
