For all the great United sides there have been in the Premier League era, Wenger's 'Invincibles' are the greatest team we have seen in the country over the last 22 years. They were perfection. Wenger didn't make many high-profile signings in the summer of 2003, signing youngsters Robin van Persie, Cesc Fabregas and Jose Antonio Reyes, but in truth, he already had a fantastic squad at his disposal. Sol Campbell was a brilliant defender, Ashley Cole was developing into a world-class left-back, while Patrick Vieira, Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry were among the best in the world in their respective positions. Throw in the brilliance of Robert Pires and Freddie Ljungberg out wide and it's clear to see why they were such a special team. The Gunners had blown the league title to United in 2002/03- a disastrous 2-2 draw at Bolton was pivotal- and they were hungry for revenge. Nobody ever felt they would go the entire season unbeaten, but that's exactly what they did; one of the greatest achievements in English football history. Ruud van Nistelrooy's last-minute missed penalty in September 2003, which meant the game at Old Trafford finished 0-0, was a huge let-off, but other than that they rarely looked like losing a game. Henry was arguably the world's best player at the time- Ronaldinho may well have something to say about that- and they were simply blowing away the majority of teams. The football being played was out of this world, and whether it was pace, power, creativity or leadership, Arsenal had it in abundance. They defeated Leicester City on the final day, having initially gone behind, sealing a remarkable 38-game unbeaten season in the process. Chances are we will not see that done again for a very, very long time. They may not have been the most likeable group of players, but they were unbelievable when in full flow.
