5 Reasons Everton Can Reach The Champions League

1. Goodison Park

At the heart of Everton football club lies this famous stadium which they have built into a fortress. It's an extremely difficult place to visit and you'll be lucky to leave their with anything. If you want to witness a routine away victory then steer clear of this ground. In the last calendar year Everton lost just one game at home, against Sunderland on Boxing Day. That victory shocked everyone and it stands as the only defeat Everton have experienced at home this season. Home form is vital for mounting a successful Champions League attempt and Everton have mastered it. It all started under David Moyes but Roberto Martinez has ensured nothing has changed on his arrival. Victories against Chelsea, Newcastle and Southampton stand out from their home results but they also picked up a draw with Liverpool in what was a thrilling Merseyside derby. In 12 home games this season they've picked up all three points on eight occasions. Draws with Liverpool and Tottenham are nothing to be ashamed of either especially considering what those sides hope to achieve this year. Evertons form at Goodison Park could prove to be the deciding factor in whether this side plays amongst the big boys next season. Away form is important too but it's at home where it counts most, in front of your faithful supporters. I doubt any of Europe's finest would fancy a visit to Goodison Park given what the Toffees have demonstrated this season.
