5 Reasons Liverpool Won't Win The League (And 1 Why They Might)

They Can Focus On The League

Liverpool only have the Premier League to play for this season as they're out, or didn't qualify for, any other tournaments this season. The recent FA Cup loss to Arsenal at the Emirates confirmed it. That puts the Reds in a decent position as their title rivals are still in other competitions, which include European games where they all have to travel away at least once more this season. Chelsea are out of the FA Cup but they are still in the Champions League, where they're expected to progress as they face Galatasaray in the next round. A trip to Turkey isn't exactly what you want in midweek and there's the prospect of more European difficulties to come. Arsenal are also still in the Champions League but it doesn't look they their campaign will last much longer as they trail 2-0 to Bayern Munich on aggregate. They're still to travel to the Allianz and they're also in the FA Cup, where they're just one game away from a Wembley semi-final and have a great chance of success. Manchester City are in a similar situation. Though they're on the verge of being knocked out of Europe by Barcelona, they have an FA Cup tie with Championship side Wigan which you'd expect them to win. On top of this, there's also the Capital One Cup final against Sunderland next weekend. While the other sides have other areas to put some attention too, Liverpool do not- which could play in their favour in the final months of the season.
