Loic Remy is a transfer target for Aston Villa and a number of other clubs this season following QPR's
relegation from the Premier League. The Hoops have to slash their astronomical wage bill as they prepare for life in the Championship next season and have already sold defender Christopher Samba back to Anzhi Makhachkala and strikers Jay Bothroyd and Djibril Cisse have already left Loftus Road this summer. Now, Remy could be the next to go, and his relegation release clause makes him an attractive option for Villa. The Frenchman insisted on the clause being built into his contract when he signed for Harry Redknapp's side from Marseille in January and now the Rs have to listen to offers if they receive one of
£6 million-plus. That puts Remy well within Villa's price range - especially given they'll have £25 million to spend from any Benteke sale - and his situation at QPR also plays nicely into their hands. They will however likely have to do battle with the likes of Newcastle, Liverpool and Arsenal for the 26-year-old's signature.
