1. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Like Rangnick, you have not been able to pick up a newspaper in recent years without seeing former Manchester United player favourite Solskjaer's name being linked to a Premier League job. Cardiff is just the latest in a long, long line. It might as easily be West Bromwich Albion or even the Red Devils themselves such is the speculation surrounding the 40-year-old Norwegian. Solskjaer, nicknamed the baby-faced assassin, has been cutting his managerial teeth in his homeland with Molde after coaching United's reserves. Two Norwegian titles followed by a domestic cup this year means he has taken the winning habit as a player into the dugout. What Solskjaer must decide is which Premier League job is right for him. The Bluebirds will have to persuade him that it is theirs if they want him. If Solskjaer is a manager in the image of Sir Alex Ferguson, then he would hardly take kindly to public outbursts and a tightening of purse-strings. Overspending this past summer or not, it is naïve to think Cardiff can afford to stand still in the top flight. Cardiff City fans, we want to hear from you. Is Malky Mackay's sacking an inevitability? Are you afraid that Vincent Tan in his reluctance to spend in January will risk the club's top flight status? Tell us your thoughts below!
