Chelsea Transfers: 5 Reasons Why Demba Ba Is A Great Signing

1. Relieves The Burden On Torres?

Before the arrival of Demba Ba at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea only had one out and out striker, that being Fernando Torres. Daniel Sturridge was known to be leaving, which would have left the Blues threadbare up front. This was a worrying prospect for Chelsea considering the fact that Torres' form has been running hot and cold this season, with the Spaniard looking less and less like a player once valued at £50 million by the day. It's true that Torres has rediscovered his shooting boots - he is Chelsea's top scorer at the moment, but another bout of ill-confidence could send him on another barren run at any given moment. If his form does take another dip, then Chelsea at least have Demba Ba to fall back on. Ba could help take the pressure off Torres who up until now has been the chief breadwinner at Stamford Bridge. Having two out and out goalscorers in the team is a good thing because it means you're not running the risk of turning into a one-man side. Add the attacking threats of Juan Mata and Eden Hazard to the mix, and you have yourself a fearsome foursome who could mean the difference between a win and a defeat. *As I write this, Ba is currently on for a hat-trick on his debut, having scored twice for Chelsea against Southampton already. I told you he would be a good signing!* What do you think Chelsea fans? Is Demba Ba a good signing for Chelsea? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
