1. André Schürrle
Many reports had been claiming that Schürrle was already
certain to join Chelsea, but now it appears that the deal has hit a snag because Belgian youngster Kevin De Bruyne would rather join Borussia Dortmund than
be used as a makeweight in the Schürrle deal with Bayer Leverkusen. It is vital that Jose Mourinho finds a way past this impasse and signs Schürrle, even if it means more money has to be payed. Schürrle is ideal for Mourinho's counter attacking style because of his pace and finishing ability. He can play on the left wing or up front, which increases Chelsea's attacking options, a task which Victor Moses and Marko Marin have struggled to fulfill. Schürrle is more of a traditional winger than Eden Hazard and Juan Mata and can provide the width that they can't as they often seek to cut inside instead of running down the line and crossing. At the age of just 22 Schürrle has already become one of the most potent forwards in the Bundesliga and still has plenty of time to develop his game even further. He finished last season with 14 goals and 9 assists, an impressive tally for a winger and one which helped his team into third position and automatic Champions League qualification.
