So with one Uruguayan striker out, who better to replace him with than... another Uruguayan striker? Edinson Cavani is said to be willing to leave Paris Saint Germain this summer, after being played out on the wing as second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the duration of his debut season in France. After making the move from Napoli last summer for a huge £55 million fee, Cavani will not come cheap for the Reds. However, his goalscoring exploits from wherever he plays on the pitch make him one of the leading strikers in Europe. Cavani hit 25 goals in all competitions last season for PSG, while he scored an astounding 104 goals in 138 total appearances for Napoli prior to his big money move to the French capital. If Liverpool fans want to dream about another genuine top class striker who they could be capable of signing, they should look no further than the 27-year-old Cavani. Whilst there are cheaper alternatives available, signing Cavani would be a huge statement of intent that Liverpool are not falling back into mid table mediocrity in the wake of Suarez's departure and the collapse of Remy's move.
