Club: Real Madrid Another costly option - apparently at £40m even with only a year left of his contract - Benzema seems to be the hottest tipped option for Brendan Rodgers, who needs to make a statement after the loss of his best player. Madrid are apparently closing in on the signature of Radamel Falcao, which would push Benzema down the pecking order at the Bernabeu, and at still only 26 years old, he should be considered a very strong option to lead Liverpool's line. Given how many times he has been linked with a move to the Premier League - and Arsenal among others - it's no revelation that the Frenchman's style would suit the league, and at Liverpool he would see his ambition to play for a club that considers him their most important player realised. Benzema scored 17 goals in La Liga last season, and though his all-round game would not compete with Suarez's creativity, he is the kind of big-name, big-impact striker who could fill the hole left by Suarez and offer some goals to ease the burden on the rest of the team.
