It has been rumoured that the Barcelona forward will head in the opposite direction in part exchange as Suarez completes his move to the Nou Camp, though Arsenal are threatening to scupper that arrangement. The Gunners are primed to resume another summer of hostilities with Liverpool following last year's pursuit of Suarez by Arsene Wenger, who memorably bid £40 million and £1 for the Uruguayan.
Arsenal too are keen on Sanchez, as the London club look to build on last summer's FA Cup success, and could rival Liverpool for the Chilean. Sanchez scored 19 La Liga goals last season and provided a further 10 assists for the Catalan club, but looks set to be edged out of first team contention with the imminent arrival of Suarez at the Nou Camp. And, if Liverpool can fend off interest from Arsenal, they will be landing a player capable of helping the club continue the successes of last season in the post-Suarez era on Merseyside.
