Man Utd: 10 Stats That Prove Moyes Is Getting It All Wrong
6. Old Trafford Is A Fortress No More!
Under Sir Alex Ferguson in 2012-13, Manchester United's home win percentage was a staggering 84%, the best in the Premier League, which is precisely why they won the league back from Man City. In the three seasons prior to that it was 79%, 95% and 84%, all of which are the form of contenders. But this season, under David Moyes, United have an abysmal home win percentage of just 45% (and a loss percentage of an incredible 36% - higher than any season in Fergie's 27 season tenure,) which is just not good enough. Losses against Newcastle, Everton, Tottenham and West Brom, as well as draws against Chelsea and Southampton have meant United have won just 5 of their 11 home games and only 1 against a team in the top 10 (Arsenal). Under Fergie, Old Trafford was a fortress, but under David Moyes, teams are no longer fearful of their visit to The Theatre of Dreams and are taking away points, including 3 for a Newcastle side who had never won at Old Trafford in more than 40 years.
