Robert Lewandowski has been linked with a move to Manchester United for quite some time now, with
reports last December claiming a deal had even been struck for the Borussia Dortmund forward to join the Red Devils in the summer in an £18 million deal. However, interest from run-away Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich recently is threatening to
scupper any such deal meaning Ferguson could see himself involved in a tussle with former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola, who is set to manage the German Giants in the summer and has already reportedly drawn up a huge transfer wishlist. News that United could make a move for Lewandowski was met with scepticism initially, considering Ferguson already has four forwards at Old Trafford, however, should Rooney leave, a bid for the Polish international would make a lot more sense and the thought of him joining RVP up front is a frightening one to consider.
