The victory over Sunderland which saw Paolo Di Canio lose his job was the first win for Steve Clark's men in 9 league games, not exactly the form you want going into the lion dens that is Old Trafford. Significantly West Brom have never beaten United in the whole Premier League era and their last ever win came in 1984. Despite United's early frailties they did look strong against Liverpool and kept quiet a certain Mr Suarez which will be heartening news for supporters following poor results in the league against the 'bigger' clubs. Looking at West Brom's attacking options I find it hard to see they posing any real threat. Shane Long while a hard worker never seems to score goals that really matter and the aging Nicolas Anelka is very much in his twilight and doesn't have the pace he once had to torment a likely defensive line-up of Vidic and Ferdinand. If United can deal with set pieces then I think they will null the only threat West Brom will pose and without last years often saviour in Romelu Lukaku West Brom don't seem the same team. I watched the West Brom v Arsenal game in the Capital Cup and looking at the strength of depth and the first team regulars they put out this isn't a team that should be posing Mr Moyes any real threat. It's okay to a degree if he struggles with the top teams in his first season in charge, however it will be a cardinal sin if he fails to kill off the teams languishing at the bottom of the table.
