Newcastle Set To Lose Out On AC Milan Forward

Here we go again...

Newcastle United look set to lose out on AC Milan forward M'Baye Niang after the player's agent revealed fresh contract talks have started with i Rossoneri, according to French newspaper L'‰QUIPE. The former Caen man still has two years left on his current deal, but Milan are reportedly keen form him to extend that by a further two years to fend of interest from a number of parties. United looked to be one of the front runners to land the 20-year-old's signature after the seven-time Champions League winners seemed to have condemned him to the scrap heap. Niang, who can play as a centre forward or on the wing, has spent the second half of the last two seasons out on loan. He signed for Montpellier in January 2014, scoring four goals in 19 appearances before joining Genoa at the start of this year. The French U 21 international scored five goals in 12 appearances for the Italians. West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are also set to be left disappointed by the planned contract talks as they were also rumoured to be sniffing round Niang. He is clearly a player that huge amounts of potential and someone that certainly fits the bill when it comes to The Magpies' transfer dealings in recent years. Who knows, there could still be room for a loan deal yet... For all the latest NUFC News, Views and Transfers make sure to follow whatculture.com/NUFC on Twitter and Facebook.
