Newcastle Transfers: 10 Dream Goalscoring Options Pardew Musn't Ignore

4. Christian Benteke

Though currently injured, Christian Benteke could be a fantastic signing for Newcastle. Benteke is currently sidelined after rupturing his achilles tendon while training with Aston Villa and was ruled out for at least six months, missing the last month of the 2013-14 season and even the World Cup. It was originally feared the Belgian attacker would miss the first six months of next season, however, he is aiming to return to action well before that point, though will miss the start of the campaign. Nevertheless, he would still be a great signing for the Magpies, primarily due to his prolific goalscoring abilities. Benteke was awesome in his debut season in England after moving to Villa from Genk in 2012, scoring 19 Premier League goals. And though 2013-14 was a disappointment, he has already proven himself in England as a top goalscorer. Any move this summer would represent something of a risk, considering the 23-year-old wouldn't be able to play right away, but if Alan Pardew opts to play the long game, he will be getting a striker who still has his best years ahead of him.
