Newcastle United: 7 Most Memorable Moments In Silver

1. Newcastle Reign In Spain With Thrashing - Real Mallorca vs NUFC (UEFA Cup Fourth Round, March 2004)

The road to the UEFA Cup semi-finals in 2003-04 took Newcastle fans to some far-flung places, but the Balearic island of Mallorca was the scene of their biggest away win. Having battered the Spaniards 4-1 at St. James€™ Park in the home leg, there was little danger of an upset, but that didn€™t stop over 3,000 Geordies traveling to capital city Palma. After a lackadaisical first-half, Sir Bobby Robson€™s team sprang into life after the break, and blitzed the La Liga outfit with an Alan Shearer brace and a fine solo effort from Craig Bellamy. United marched on to the quarter-finals following a 3-0 win€”and a 7-1 aggregate victory€”and the silver strip had done it again.
