6. Robin Van Persie (Manchester United)
After transferring from Arsenal to Manchester United in the latter period of the summer transfer window, there was a debate to be had whether Robin Van Persie could rekindle the same goalscoring prowess that he so brilliantly displayed at the Emirates. But after nearly a whole season at Old Trafford, it appears as though we have been fatuous to think otherwise. His performances in a Man Utd shirt have equalled, or perhaps have exceeded those performances he made at Arsenal. Last season he scored a massive 30 goals in the Premier League, earning him the prestigious Golden Boot Award and he has maintained the same goalscoring form going into this season. With 19 goals in 26 games for the Red Devils, Van Persie is already an early favourite for a second consecutive Golden Boot Victory. What makes Van Persie so deadly for any defensive unit, is his miraculous ability to transform a game instantaneously, either by being the key to unlock a defence with a precise through ball, or most probably, with the aid of his ever reliable left peg, by scoring a spectacular goal at the most pertinent of times. For two seasons running now, Van Persie stands out as one of the best strikers in the world, and if he remains relentless in his goalscoring proficiency, then there's no reason why that will change.
