Premier League Transfers: What All 20 Teams Need In The Winter Window

Aston Villa

What do they need? Paul Lambert has a squad packed full of options at Villa, but has been missing first choice centre backs. A creative advanced midfield player would be welcome, but he has seldom set them up to include this. Linked with: Steven Defour (Porto), Mousa Dembele (Tottenham Hotspur), Wes Hoolahan (Norwich), Jamaal Lascelles (Nottingham Forest), Wilfried Zaha (Manchester United). Who we'd like to see at Villa Park: Steven Defour and Wilfried Zaha. Belgian box-to-box star Defour once interested Manchester United. He lost his place in the league XI at Porto before Christmas though remained a staple in the Champions League. If Lambert could land him it would be a major coup, though he may prefer Hoolahan who he knows from Norwich.
Red Devils misfit Zaha might find the West Midlands and a young team better for him in the short-term on loan. Lambert has such a great track record of managing youthful players that he might work his magic on the former Crystal Palace winger.

Cardiff City

What do they need? To back new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the market, so he can put his own stamp on the club. That assurance has been given, so a proven top flight goalscorer would be ideal. Owner Vincent Tan may find players of that calibre difficult to attract. Linked with: Tom Ince (Blackpool), Mats Moller Daehli (Molde), Magnus Wolff Eikrem (Heerenveen), Wilfried Zaha (Manchester United). Who we'd like to see at the Bluebirds: It would come as no surprise to us if Solskjaer went back to former clubs Manchester United and Molde in search of signings to keep Cardiff up.
Several Red Devils academy graduates are catching the eye in the Championship, so David Moyes would be obliged to the Norwegian for giving the likes of Ryan Tunnicliffe, Jesse Lingard and the Keane brothers (Will and Michael) some top flight exposure. Solskjaer could also look to the out of favour Zaha as well as compatriots Daehli and Eikrem to bolster midfield.
