4. Luka Modric
Luka Modric left Tottenham in acrimonious circumstances last summer after moving to Real Madrid in a £33 million deal but the transfer hasn't worked out for either party with the Croatian scoring just three La Liga goals and being voted one of the
worst signings of the season in Spain And with the strong possibility of former team-mate Gareth Bale moving to the Bernabeu this summer, Modric would likely lose his spot in the centre of Real's midfield to the Welshman if he stayed. It could then be in his best interests to return to England - and Tottenham - where he enjoyed a successful four seasons and established himself as one of European football's most coveted midfielders. Modric could even be used as a makeweight in any deal Real put on the table for Bale this summer, and it'd be an offer that Tottenham would surely consider. The 27-year-old was one of Spurs's best players prior to his move to Madrid and their midfield has been lacking in creativity and ideas since his departure. This could be an opportunity for Tottenham to instantly re-strengthen their midfield in the wake of Bale's sale and also for Modric to get his career off the rocks.
