Spurs Transfers: 5 More La Liga Stars That Could Follow Roberto Soldado To White Hart Lane

3. Alvaro Vadillo

Alvaro Vadillo With Tottenham looking increasingly consigned to the prospect of losing Gareth Bale to Real Madrid this summer, manager Andre Villas-Boas has been searching for replacements. The latest player to be touted as a replacement for the double PFA Player of the Year is Real Betis teenager Alvaro Vadillo. According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Tottenham were keeping an eye on Vadillo throughout the course of the recent European Under-19 Championships, where the winger was one of Spain€™s standout performers. Spurs also reportedly scouted the midfielder as Betis took on Fulham in a pre-season friendly at Craven Cottage on Monday. The 18-year-old Spanish international is one of Betis's brightest young talents and the La Liga outfit are reluctant to sell, to the point that they have slapped a £17.3 million release clause on the youngster's head to ward off potential suitors. But that fee, admittedly a huge one for a player who hasn't yet been capped at senior level for his country, would be easily offset by the record-breaking transfer funds Tottenham would receive from selling Bale. And they'd have a future, world-class talent on their books, too. Just as Bale was when he signed from Southampton.
