Sunderland’s 10 Greatest Premier League Loan Signings
2. Danny Rose
There was little to shout about in the 2012/13 season save one young man, Danny Rose. The loan signing of Rose from Spurs was received as initially uninspiring, but Rose really proved his worth as a Premier League player.
Rose was so good, that he was commonly the best attacker, and the best defender in many of Sunderland’s games. His pace frequently bailed out the insufferably slow pairing of John O’Shea and Carlos Cuellar, whilst his bursts down the left hand side were often the best attacking outlet in a side devoid of creativity.
Much like Evans, it’s a crying shame the club couldn’t tempt Danny back, particularly in light of Manchester City's recent interest in the England star.
