World Cup 2014: 25 Most Memorable Moments

7. Record-Breaking Klose

Many records were broken during this World Cup but the most memorable was definitely Miroslav Klose breaking Ronaldo€™s World Cup Goal scoring record as he scored his 15th and 16th World Cup goals in Brazil.

His 15th goal came in the Germany€™s group game against Ghana as he rescued a point for his team and his 16th came in the semi-finals against Brazil. Even though all of Klose€™s goals were from well within the penalty area that shouldn€™t take anything away from the German. It is a great record but maybe hasn€™t got the attention it deserves due to the situation he got his 16th goal in.

6. Mario Götze's Winner

In football there are important goals and then there are goals like the one Mario Götze scored in the Maracanã on Sunday night. With penalties looming in what had been an entertaining final, Götze beautifully chested down Andrea Schurrle cross and hit the volley past Romero, making sure the trophy was returning to Germany after 24 years. With the nucleus of this German squad in their early to mid-twenties, there is no doubt that there is the potential for a German domination over the next few years. Scarily this is a team that still has the likes of Marko Reus, İlkay GündoŸan and much more talent to add to the ranks.
