1. Newcastle 0-6 Liverpool, 2013
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnkNbEDNXcc It was hard to ever imagine a performance more bereft of courage, heart and impetus than the pathetic display Newcastle showed in their 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool six years ago, but in April 2013, the Reds returned to St. James Park and made them look even worse. Times had changed slightly - while Newcastle were still no great shakes, they werent locked in the throes of a relegation battle, and Liverpool were seventh as opposed to sitting top of the league. Which probably makes the 6-0 reverse even worse. Liverpool had been labelled a one-man team during the season, such was their reliance on Luis Suarez, but they cheerfully dispelled those rumours by knocking six goals past a shell-shocked Rob Elliot. It took just three minutes for the deadlock to be broken, as Daniel Agger nodded home, before Jordan Henderson slotted home. Daniel Sturridge netted twice from close range before Fabio Borini poked home his first league league goal for Liverpool. With Mathieu Debuchy shown an early bath for a lunge, Hendersons whipped free-kick found the back of the net, much to the disgust of an onlooking St. James Park faithful. We lost a little bit of fight and heart in the team, and it turned into a terrible scoreline for us. We need to come out fighting against West Ham. We lost our discipline today, a guy sent off, some of our defensive work. We completely lost our way in terms of the scoreline today. They were very good and we were very bad. Theres nothing we can do about it. Weve got to put it right. I didnt see that coming. Its a tough blow for us to take. The only message I could give to the fans is were going to fight to the end. - Alan Pardew, April 2013. So that's a wrap - do you agree?
